Namibia’s National Assembly has finally approved the USD285 million Millennium Challenge Account compact after weeks of controversy on the alleged possible “sale” of the Etosha National Park to American companies under the tourism section of the grant agreement. The compact will support the country’s tourism, education and agriculture projects over a five-year period. (“NA approves US grant” - Namibian, Nov. 19, 2008)
