Non-governmental organizations have an integral role in the international aid architecture, but their work is not always recognized or understood. A planned reality TV show seeks to change that.
A well-known U.S. TV producer is reportedly looking for three aid workers in the field to follow as part of a documentary reality show. The goal is to highlight their contributions to the international community as well as provide insights with regard to their personal stories, according to an e-mail from the Democracy Council.
Preferred candidates are those engaged in NGO work in the areas of health, humanitarian aid, refugee assistance, human rights, civil society development, rule of law, democracy promotion and economic development, among others. Their activities could be privately or publicly funded as long as it is not for profit.
Candidates should also conduct the majority of their activities in English and possess a strong passion for what they are doing.
