Among the many perks is temporary preferential treatment for those applying for a job with the federal government, according to Christopher Gilson, regional manager for the Peace Corps’ Mid-Atlantic recruiting office. The work experience may also open doors to graduate schools and positions as a Peace Corps recruiter, he noted.
