    Some 2.5 million Somalis face starvation due to drought, Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed told the United Nations Security Council on Jan. 14.

    “Nearly 2.5 million people are on the verge of starvation and unless we will have immediate support, definitely there will be a catastrophic situation,” Mohamed was quoted by Agence France-Presse as saying after the meeting.
