President Kgalema Motlanthe said on Dec. 17 the southern Africa region would launch an urgent humanitarian aid campaign to help Zimbabwe, which is racked by food and cholera crises. A troika of countries from the regional body SADC that has been dealing with Zimbabwe would "launch an urgent international campaign to mobilize financial and material resources to help the people of Zimbabwe in order to help them overcome the challenges facing their country," Motlanthe told a news conference.
