Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao visited Seoul May 28 to discuss enhanced cooperation with Korea. Wen’s second visit to the country focused on strengthening the strategic cooperative partnerships between China and South Korea, Xinhua News reports. Among the measures suggested by Wen is fast-tracking work on a free trade area for the two countries. In Jeju Island, Wen and South Korean officials met with their Japanese counterparts for the countries’ third trilateral meeting, at which they mapped out plans for East Asian cooperation.
