Spain has established an annual refugee resettlement program, joining 12 other European countries in providing asylum and protection to refugees who are not able to safety return to their original countries or safely remain in first countries of asylum. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees lauded this latest initiative from Spain, Reuters reports.
