A powerful new intelligence chatbot called ChatGPT is seen by many as a tipping point for artificial intelligence.
After learning from vast amounts of data — more than 300 billion words from written content on the internet — its language model can answer prompts in a conversational way. ChatGPT is an example of generative AI, or tools that don’t just analyze existing data, but create new content.
AI has never been more prominent on the global agenda. It was a hot topic at last week’s World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, where the general consensus was that AI will change everything. Leaders from the private sector, government, and civil society are seeking ways to maximize the benefits and minimize the risks of these emerging technologies.
