Sudan has generated USD357.36 million in oil revenues in October, the Ministry of Finance and National Economy said Dec. 12. The semi-autonomous region of South Sudan accounts for USD140.56 million of the revenues, while the national government’s share is USD209.41 million, according to the European Coalition on Oil in Sudan.

A new oilfield in the north is expected to raise Sudan’s oil production to 500,000 barrels per day. Sudan is seeking to boost oil production in the north ahead of the expected secession of the south next year, according to the coalition.
