
Relief and development professionals seeking to advance their careers, learn more about key challenges and network with peers in their field should take a close look at the upcoming SID World Congress.
The impressive lineup for this July 29-31 gathering in Washington, D.C., includes a special audience Q&A with World Bank President Robert Zoellick, keynotes from other prominent world leaders, and plenary panels with experts such as former USAID Administrator and current OECD-Development Assistance Committee chair J. Brian Atwood, to name just a few.
“From July 29 to 31 at the SID World Congress, we will truly be the global town square of development as we engage a broad array of development leaders, activists, and practitioners, providing them the opportunity to share best practices, debate the key issues of development, and meet with like-minded professionals from around the world,” said Joe Feuer, executive director of the Society of International Development’s Washington chapter, which is hosting the event.
The congress will bring together more than 1,000 participants from all over the world. The roster includes senior government officials and representatives from academia, international NGOs, multilateral donors and the private sector.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Our Common Challenge: A World Moving Toward a Sustainable Future.”
