The East African Development Bank set aside USD125,000 to promote small and medium enterprise development in Uganda. “We have given the private sector 60 percent of our funding compared to the government because we want a vibrant private sector,” remarked EADB director general Godfrey Tumusiime, debunking the notion that the agency lends exclusively to government branches. Enterprise Uganda, the recipient of the sub-grant, will use the money to train businesses to come up with more competitive and innovative marketing and management strategies.
