U.K. development minister Anneliese Dodds has resigned over her government’s decision to cut aid spending.
Dodds’ decision follows an announcement last week by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer that aid would be cut to 0.3% of gross national income, from its current level of 0.5%, from 2027 onwards.
Starmer said the cut was necessary to pay for an increase in defense spending.
