The United Kingdom launched its long-awaited women and girls strategy to a critical reaction yesterday — and accompanied it with a cut to its flagship program on sexual and reproductive health.
The £200 million ($236 million) announced for the Women's Integrated Sexual Health, or WISH, program on Wednesday covers a period of six years, Devex has learned.
The previous round of the WISH program has had £292.5 million of funding since 2018. The program also suffered through two rounds of spending reductions — though less than first feared — in the U.K.’s recent aid cuts.
