The United Nations is calling for an additional $17 million in relief funds to assist those who have been displaced or affected by the floods in North Korea. The appeal follows the release of information regarding the calamity’s destructive effects, which exceeded initial estimations. Almost one million people have been affected by the floods, which were caused by heavy seasonal rains early this month. The new appeal by the U.N. hopes to provide emergency relief to the victims in the form of medical supplies, potable water, and food over the next three months.
