Together with the State University of New York (SUNY), the United Nations Capital Development (UNCDF) will broaden its microfinance training program that could assist people in developing countries to gain better access to financial services. Under the plan, SUNY will develop and improve the online Microfinance Distance Learning course to enable delivery to a bigger audience. “Our UNCDF microfinance colleagues invested a lot of time, energy and resources into developing this program,” said Henriette Keijzers, interim Executive Secretary at UNCDF. “The intention was to promote knowledge of microfinance to as broad an audience as possible, which is now happening through partnerships like this one with SUNY.” (Source: UN Capital Development Fund signs agreement to expand microfinance education/U.N.
