The U.S. still has no decision on Israel?s aid request for Negev and Galilee, the relocation sites for evacuated Jewish settlers from the Gaza Strip. According to State Department spokesman Gregg Sullivan, "there is no specific course of action yet but discussions are continuing as to how [the U.S.] can move ahead on aid packages." Sullivan added that Washington is currently studying how to help both Israel and the Palestinian territories and that determining the extent of the country?s support will become clearer when the pullout reaches completion. Sources say that the proposed assistance for the two Israeli regions will form part of the Bush administration?s supplemental budget request next year.
