The U.S. and Qatari governments are teaming up to help step up global food security efforts.
Under a memorandum of understanding signed Thursday (April 14), the two countries will develop public-private partnerships, support joint research and exchange of scientists, and facilitate access to sources of finance as well as technical and policy dialogues among experts and practitioners.
“Both the United States and Qatar see food security as a development issue that must be addressed comprehensively and creatively. This agreement demonstrates the strong partnership between our nations and emphasizes our joint commitment to address this global challenge,” U.S. Agency for International Development Administrator Rajiv Shah said.
