During Devex World 2018 in Washington, D.C., on June 12, we caught up with MSD for Mothers Executive Director Mary-Ann Etiebet on meeting the Sustainable Development Goals for maternal and child health.
Find out more about the topics and conversations from Devex’s flagship conference in Washington, D.C., on June 12.
In order to eradicate preventable maternal deaths, the private sector and the development community must come together to develop a relationship of mutual trust, Etiebet said, adding that shared language, shared understanding, and respect for different motivations and investments are all needed.
Also important is how to assess both the social and financial return of a project so that it benefits both parties.
In the video above, Etiebet talks about forging partnerships outside the traditional development space, experimentation, and some of the issues that can arise when seeking new private sector partners.
Devex, with financial support from our partner MSD for Mothers, is exploring how the private sector is driving innovations in global health. Visit the Focus on: Future of Health Partnerships page for more.
