Donor countries and international organizations have pledged a total USD790 million to support climate change and carbon emission initiatives in Vietnam, Reuters reports. Some USD250 million will arrive via the World Bank’s clean technology fund, which includes commitments from Denmark, Japan and France. The money will be used to finance energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives, particularly those involving major railway systems in the Vietnamese cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh.
