    Watch: Wellcome Trust's Alice Bell on joint health and climate policy

    Wellcome Trust’s head of policy for its climate and health team tells Devex why it's vital that health and environment policymakers start working more closely together.

    “We can’t make good climate policy without health,” says Alice Bell, head of policy for the Wellcome Trust’s specialist climate and health team.

    Speaking to Devex’s Editorial Director Richard Jones at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Bell discussed the challenges associated with communicating climate’s impact on health in media and policy. “You’re trying to bring two different disciplines together … climate as a field has always been very multidisciplinary and had to struggle with that, and now we’re talking about bringing in a whole host of other disciplines [regarding health].”

    However, she said she thought both climate and health professionals were receptive to working together and used to dealing with that complexity.
