In a world grappling with escalating crises and fragmented geopolitics, the concept of collective action often feels like a relic of a bygone era.

This sentiment was starkly articulated by former Czech Prime Minister Jan Fischer during an interview with Devex on the sidelines of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development in Sevilla, Spain, earlier this month.

Fischer led the Czech Republic between 2009 and 2010, as well as served as the vice president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development from 2010 to 2012.
