Sudan and the World Bank have agreed to finance two projects that will benefit certain regions in the African nation. At least $11.9 million by the World Bank-managed National Multi-Donor Trust Fund and $10.6 million by the Sudanese government will be used to fund Phase 1 of the Start-up/Emergency program, which includes both the recovery and development project in South Kordofan and the livestock and marketing project in North Kordofan, Blue Nile, Sinnar, and White Nile. The project in South Kordofan will be geared at providing basic services to the area’s local communities, such as the improvement of roads and access to clean water, and the provision of basic health and education services. On the other hand, the program in North Kordofan, Blue Nile, Sinnar, and White Nile will be concerned with strengthening livestock production and food security in various localities in the area.
