World Bank-backed Governance Course Targets Communication Specialists

By Ma. Rizza Leonzon // 20 April 2011

The World Bank is teaming up with the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication and University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism to pilot the Executive Course in Communication and Governance Reform this year.

The course, which will be held July 18-27 at the bank’s Washington headquarters, is designed for communication professionals in Africa and the Middle East seeking to provide implementation support to government and civil society leaders.

The program will equip participants with skills to interpret governance diagnostics and political economy analyses, draft multistakeholder coalition-building strategies, provide implementation support to governance reform, and apply monitoring and evaluation frameworks.

Applications should be submitted by April 29.
