Ethiopia and the World Bank formalized grant and loan agreements worth USD275 million. “We appreciate this important initiative to make its pledge into reality in a very short period of time … since the Bank has announced to help countries that are affected by this global food crisis,” Ethiopian Finance and Economic Development Minister Sufian Ahmed said, adding that the initial disbursement will be used to distribute fertilizers to farmers.
