The World Bank has prepared USD35 million for a five-year initiative seeking to help disabled children in Bangladesh. World Bank country director Xian Zhu broached the offer in a meeting with the Chief Advisor’s special assistant for Social Welfare, Posts and Telecommunications MA Malek. The program seeks to enhance the quality of government and private sector services that deal with handicapped and vulnerable children. The initiative also aims to broaden the scope of services, and encourage awareness on the children’s plight.
