The World Bank earmarked USD362 million to improve the road transport network and agricultural tank irrigation in India’s Orissa state. Of the amount, USD250 million will be allocated to a project seeking to enhance the safety and capacity of priority roads. The rest will support the rehabilitation of some 900 tanks to irrigate about 120,000 hectares of arable land in 29 districts in the state.
