The World Bank has approved a loan of USD485 million for multi-sector development projects in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro. The funds will support projects that aim to develop the state’s basic education and health systems. It will also support initiatives to improve Rio’s fiscal management as well as investment climate through the creation of an efficient business registration process.
