Thirteen past and present World Food Prize laureates are urging U.S. political candidates and voters to prioritize the global hunger crisis as they head to the polls next week — and for the United States to again take the lead on solving it.
The World Food Prize is known as the Nobel Prize for food and agriculture. Its laureates have done some of the world’s most important work to improve the quantity, quality, or availability of food.
“We are struck that the U.S. elections, just one week away, have included almost no discussion of world hunger,” the letter begins.
