South African President Thabo Mbeki said in London the UN has the key to resolving the political and economic crisis in Zimbabwe. He said a visit by Secretary General Kofi Annan to Zimbabwe could help normalize relations between Harare and the West. But Mbeki criticized British policy on Zimbabwe and defended South Africa’s efforts to foster dialogue. (BBC News)
