The
pledged 60 million pounds ($97 million) for Zimbabwe. The assistance will be channeled through non-governmental organizations or the United Nations. Some 4 million pounds will be used to buy tools, seeds and fertilizer to boost local food production while another 1 million pounds will be allotted for the purchase of text books. The remainder of the funding will help address humanitarian needs in Zimbabwe.
