Zimbabwe Gets Norwegian Grant

The Norwegian government will give USD7.02 million to help Zimbabwe cope with a cholera outbreak, and food and potable water shortage. “Zimbabwean authorities must give humanitarian organizations total and free access so that the essential humanitarian aid can reach the people,” said Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere. “It’s very important that President Robert Mugabe and his party, Zanu-PF, display a real desire for change.” (“Norway grants aid of 4.86 million euros to Zimbabwe” - Agence France-Presse, Sept. 19, 2008)
