About

The A B Charitable Trust (ABCT) was set up in 1990 by Yves and Anne Bonavero. Its purpose was to support unpopular causes that championed human dignity and to focus on small and medium-sized charities working close to the ground.

Values

The values that underpin the work of the A B Charitable Trust are:

  • Justice - they seek to support disenfranchised and forgotten groups
  • Collaboration – they aim to build mutually beneficial relationships with the people they work with
  • Efficiency – they maintain high standards of administrative efficiency and cost effectiveness
  • Learning – they are committed to learn from their grant making to inform future practice

There are eight Trustees who meet quarterly.

The Trust has no endowment. It is funded annually by the Bonavero family.

The Trustees reviewed the Trust’s grant-giving strategy in September 2016.

The A B Charitable Trust has given over £17 million since it was founded. You can find details of its grants in the latest annual report.
