About

Started in 1999 as a hauler of filling materials, the then Abejo Builders Corporation diversified its operation to mining and export activities in 2002 and eventually ventured as a bulk potable water supplier of Metropolitan Cebtu Water District (MCWD) in 2003. On October 4, 2011, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved the amendment of the company to change its name to Abejo Waters Corporation (AWC).

As a bulk water company, AWC supplies and distributes potable water, develops water sources, designs efficient water systems, and constructs transmission and distribution lines. It started to supply bulk water to MCWD with a minimum volume of 4 million liters per day (MLD).

Having proved its capacity to supply safe and dependable bulk potable water, MCWD has invited the company to undertake most of their projects which resulted to a stable increase in its volume capacity year-by-year. AWC entered into a Joint Venture Agreement with MCWD to augment the water supply for the cities of Cebu, Mandaue, Lapu-lapu, Consolacion, and Talisay, making the company one of the biggest bulk water suppliers of MCWD with a total volume of 35 MLD.

At present, AWC has a market share of at least 15% in Metro Cebu area. It has also signed into contracts with Local Government Units and other Water Districts outside Metro Cebu with a total volume of 12 MLD.
