The largest gold producer in Tanzania
They have been operating in Tanzania for over a decade and during that time have produced over 9 million ounces of gold from their combination of open pit and underground mines, making us the leading gold producer in Tanzania.
They have three producing mines, all located in north-west Tanzania, together with several exploration projects at various stages of development, including exploration land holdings in the highly prospective greenstone belts in Western Kenya, Western Burkina Faso and Western Mali.
Acacia Mining plc is a UK public company with its headquarters in London. They are listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange under the symbol ACA and have a secondary listing on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange in Tanzania.
In everything they do, they aim to act responsibly towards their people, the environment and their communities. This sits at the heart of their culture, and their licence to operate depends on it.
Creating a high performance culture
In order to drive a high performance culture they believe that each and every employee must display and promote the following core behaviours in all of their actions:
They plan the work and work to plan
They hold people accountable and recognise performance
They work as a team (collaborate) and communicate openly
They do what they say they will do
They act with a sense of urgency
They develop their people to be the best
To reinforce this, all team members are exposed to a unique world class Cultural Transformation Programme called Tufanikiwe Pamoja. The programme embeds the Company’s expectations and the accountabilities of every leader and team member with respect to their behaviour and approach to work.
Through this approach, together they are creating a culture and a business that has the ambition of being recognised as one of the leading mining companies in Africa within the next five years.
