ACODEA is the first agriage of international cooperation for the development of Spanish-speaking. Responding to the concept of aggression, ACODEA was born in 2009 from the initiative of two organizations representing the agricultural sector of their country of origin, UPA and FADEMUR, with the aim of supporting the development of cooperatives and producer organizations, mainly in America Latin.
The Union of Small Farmers and Ranchers (UPA) , gathers, represents and defends the interests of professionals in agriculture and livestock in Spain. It has more than 80,000 members and is an official member of the Economic and Social Council of Spain, the Economic and Social Committee of the European Union and COPA.
Additionally, ACODEA collaborates closely with Agro-food Cooperatives , an organization that represents and defends the economic and social interests of the Spanish agricultural cooperative movement. It promotes a profitable, competitive and professionalized cooperative model, contributing to the sustainability of the Spanish agricultural sector, is a member of COGECA and represents 3,800 cooperatives throughout the national territory.
ACODEA strongly believes that producer organizations are a powerful and sustainable vehicle for economic growth, generating quality employment and overcoming poverty. Strengthening the structures of these organizations, and contributing to the provision, institutions and people, of the instruments necessary to face the challenges of the market, will facilitate the participation of small producers in decision-making at all levels, thus becoming managers of their own development.See more
