Act.Change.Transform. (formerly called Pact Kenya) is a local Kenyan NGO that works with others for positive change. Our Mission is to enable citizens and communities in Kenya and neighbouring countries to live a life of dignity by strengthening individuals and organizations to be effective agents of positive change.
Act.Change.Transform. does this through grant management, capacity building and organisational development. We implement a number of programmes and projects that provide this support to nearly 100 other NGOs or Community Based Organizations in Kenya.
Act.Change.Transform. implements both large complex multi-million dollar programmes and much smaller more locally based and specific projects. To bring some focus to our efforts Act.Change.Transform. has chosen to work across 4 Strategic Platforms – Democracy and Governance, Conflict Management, Environment and Natural Resource Management and Women’s Empowerment. We are supported by a variety of different donors.
WHAT WE DO
Act.Change.Transform. builds the capacity of local people, organisations, networks and coalitions working in one or more of 4 strategic platforms that Act.Change.Transform. believes are crucial to reducing poverty and to attaining sustainable development in Kenya. These platforms are in Democracy and Governance, Conflict and Peace, Environment and Natural Resource Management, and in Women’s Empowerment.
Act.Change.Transform. builds capacity through grant management, organisational development, and through ‘tailor made’ capacity enhancement interventions targeted to help local organisations address the real and present challenges they face. These are Act.Change.Transform.’s core competencies and they are applied across all platforms and programmes according to need and context. This includes addressing organisational governance and senior management, financial and administrative competence and systems, programme design, management and implementation, advocacy and resource mobilization.
