WHAT THEY DO
Using a Right – Based – Approach, ACSET implements four inter-related and connected thematic areas, each of them with specific objectives to alleviate poverty in Uganda.
- Agriculture and Economic Development: this theme strives to improve food and nutrition security and economic resilience of the rural poor. This is done through implementation of agricultural projects, promoting income generating activities and financial literacy using Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) methodology.
- Education and Vocational skill Promotion: this theme strives to enhance inclusive quality education by sponsoring vulnerable children, improving school performances, improving teaching and literacy quality as well as school infrastructure improvement. This theme also promotes vocation skill training to tackle employment challenges in Uganda and improve on entrepreneurship development.
- Renewable Energy and Clean drinking water: this thematic area strives to promote use of renewable energy like solar power and biogas in schools, health centres and rural households. They also promote use of clean drinking water in schools, health centres and rural households.
- Social protection: They promote Human Rights, democratic governance and rule of law. They foster to empower civil society to take up their roles so that social rights of Orphans, vulnerable children and women are protected.
