About

Afghanistan Banks Association (ABA) is a non-political, non-government, non-profit and independent association formed by the local and foreign commercial banks branches striving for a strong, healthy and competitive banking industry in Afghanistan. The organization is committed to create an environment in which its member can work in coordination with other key players for promoting the financial services to the wider public and advocating transparency and professionalism.

 

ABA initially started with nine member banks and has been playing a constructive role in bringing the Banking community together with a common goal of improving the functioning of the Banking system in Afghanistan. At Present, all licensed banks are members of the ABA. Today, the ABA looks forward for a sound and well developed banking and financial sector which will contribute immensely towards the economic and social growth of the citizens of the country

 

Vision

The ABA aims to play a key role in creating and enabling sustained environment for the Banks/Financial Institutions operating in Afghanistan thus allowing each institution to function and progress without difficulty and discrimination.

 

Mission

The ABA shall represent its members in the most befitting manner to protect their legitimate rights; and promote equality, justice and transparency in the Afghan legal and regulatory system; work closely with its members for a sustained development of banking in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan; provide common platform to its members for mutually beneficial interaction and information sharing; and regularly liaise between members and outside organizations for the capacity building of the personnel.

 

Social Responsibility

The ABA recognizes its social responsibilities and commits to respect Afghan Society; the work within the ambiance of Afghan Culture; and safeguard the interests of Afghan Community. The organization is also committed to promote the culture of social responsibility with its member organization without jeopardizing their independence.
