Africa Digital Media Institute (ADMI)
The story behind ADMI’s state-of-the-art campus today began in 2011, when Wilfred Kiumi launched the Jamhuri Film and Television Academy (JFTA). Wilfred, our Founding Director, is passionate about promoting the education and empowerment of young people. He created JFTA to transfer knowledge to young and enthusiastic filmmakers in Kenya.
Classes at JFTA began in February 2012, initially with just five students taking courses in Film and TV Production. By 2013, JFTA had gained an excellent reputation and built successful partnerships with organisations such as FilmAid, Kenya Film Studios and SuperSport Studios.
Collectively, the Africa Digital Media community is an innovative learn-and-work social enterprise where young creatives get the training, mentorship and resources they need to turn their passion into a profession. They offer high-spec technical training in creative media and technology, intensive digital and soft-skills coaching and a rigorous apprenticeship process that targets a 100% placement rate.See more
