MISSION

• overseeing the development and implementation of multi-annual and annual programs of statistical activities 
• ensure the application of the methods, concepts, definitions, standards, classifications and nomenclatures approved by the Technical Committee for Statistical Programs 
• prepare the files to be submitted to the meetings of the National Statistics Council and the Technical Committee for Statistical Programs 
• to ensure the secretariat and the organization of the meetings of the National Council of Statistics and the Technical Committee of Statistical Programs as well as its sectoral sub-committees 
• carry out inventory surveys with national coverage, in particular general population censuses and business censuses 
• produce national accounts 
• to follow the economic situation and forecast in connection with the department in charge of forecasting and the economic situation
• to develop and manage the files of companies and localities 
• to develop economic, social and demographic indicators
