The Andalusian Agency for International Development Cooperation (AACID) is the body in charge of coordinating and promoting the international solidarity policies of the Junta de Andalucía. Configured as a Public Law entity with its own legal personality, its mission is to contribute "to the eradication of poverty and to the consolidation of the processes aimed at ensuring sustainable human development " (Law 14/2003, of December 22, on Cooperation International Development).
Among its purposes is the sensitization of the Andalusian population towards the problems generated by the current development model, promoting critical reflection and fostering participation and the spirit of solidarity among citizens.
This cooperation is articulated through the financing of development cooperation projects themselves, awareness-raising and education projects for development, and humanitarian and emergency action.
Among the cooperation agents that carry out actions financed by the AACID are public entities belonging to the Andalusian public administration, non-governmental development organizations (NGDO), universities, local entities and business and trade union associations based in Andalusia.
Collaboration between the AACID and the aforementioned agents is developed through collaboration agreements and subsidies.
