About

The AEI - Agency for European Integration and Economic Development was founded in 2003 by the German Federal Ministry of Finance to create a well networked and dynamic coordination platform for the Austrian participation of public bodies in national and international funding projects. Already in the spring of 2003 AEI was granted the status of a fully mandated body by the European Commission, which allowed it to participate fully in all projects.

Since then, more than 160 international projects with a funding volume of more than 100 million euros have been successfully handled through AEI. The AEI has participated as a lead as well as a partner in national and international projects financed by renowned funding organizations.

The AEI has been the Austrian representative of the EUNIDA (European Network of Implementing Development Agencies) since 2008 and has been unanimously reaffirmed in the rotating role of the Vice-Presidency.
