Born of the structural reforms put in place by the government, to improve the business climate and attract investments, the Agency for the Promotion of Investments and Exports (APIEx) is a public government agency of a social, technical and Specific type patrimonial created by Decree N ° 2018-036 of January 31, 2018 amending its statutes, to boost exports and promote the Benin destination for Investments. Placed under the supervision of the Presidency of the Republic, APIEx is the operational arm of the Government for the implementation of its investment and export promotion policy and has become the sole interlocutor for investors.
Through its role of formalization, guidance, information, assistance and support for investors and businesses, it constitutes the one-stop shop for business creation and the gateway for investors to Benin. It is the technical body in charge of studying investment code approval requests and provides the executive secretariat of the public-private partnership support unit.
Secretariat for the implementation of Doing Business reforms, the Agency is the Administrative Authority of Special Economic Zones and the center for information and facilitation of exports.
