Agoro Community Development Association (ACDA)

ACDA was founded in Agoro Northern Uganda on the 27th of August 2001. The Association is registered with Kitgum District Local Government - the Department of Community Based Services in 2002. Soon after its formation, the Association began to explore and develop contacts with charities and NGOs such as RESPECT International. Currently, ACDA acts as coordinator for RESPECT in Northern Uganda. The Association has already begun a number of projects primarily intended to improve the community's sustainability and help children. The projects include: Global Letter Exchange Project: Establishing links with children around the global Computers for Refugees: Investing in education for the community RESPECT University: Providing tutoring and educational resources for Agoro's children Develop Agoro's Livestock and Buildings: Obtaining female goats to boost the community's self-sufficiency and bricks to improve facilities Fighting AIDS: Improving awareness and education on AIDS
