Akesis US was established in 2000 as a result of the pioneering efforts of its founders in implementing one of the first antiretroviral treatment programs in Africa. Akesis has worked over the last 20 years to strengthen health systems and access to healthcare in more than 35 countries around the world. Akesis believes in strengthening existing infrastructure, systems and human resources in close collaboration with those who will ultimately benefit from these efforts.

The organization offers a full suite of responsive health system strengthening services, including supply chain service delivery (warehousing and distribution), supply chain technical assistance, lab system strengthening and commodity procurement.

Today, Akesis continues to break new ground to advance a new generation of responsive health system strengthening services to improve the long-term availability and accessibility of medicines and diagnostics for people living in low- and middle-income countries.

Akesis is a non-profit organization incorporated in the U.S. as a 501(c)(3) public charity.
