Born on December 16, 1987, the AQUAPOR - Aquariums & Equipment SA, is a company engaged inthe manufacture and sale of aquariums and aquarium accessories. Its creation arose from the need to empower a very important activity in the parent company - the ANIVITE - the largest distributor wholesale company of pet products in Portugal and whose activity dates back to 1968.
Initially, the production consisted in electrical articles intended for aquariums, such as reflectors (lighting) and air pumps but its production was gradually-expanding and also started to manufacture aquariums, through a separate assembly line. Was present from the start in the most prestigious international fairs of the sector.
Nowadays AQUAPOR manufactures almost everything that is essential for the aquarist and offers a set of integrated solutions that enable a wide range of choices for aquarium equipment.
In order to implement the new production line, the company had to build a new building on its premises and change the entire layout of the plant, also introducing new equipment, among which are a glass bending furnace, imported from Japan, and that enables the fabrication of a tank from a glass constituting the front and side thereof. This equipment is intended to create a new concept of aquarium, not forgetting also the strength and aesthetics of it. The company has the most modern equipment in the entire production chain, from the automated glass cutting, the edges finished with efficient polishing machines and their washers, through the assembly line in series and all the necessary equipment, to pack, giving the products the best aesthetic finish, functional and safety.
The best technology is useless if it is not supported by the best human resources, so Aquapor contribute to their development through training, trying to develop best practices in the different levels of the organization, keeping even the education support policies or to themselves want for their children. Seeks to create a stimulating environment and challenge but also the requirement that results in the maintenance of high motivation and has contributed both to the low levels of absenteeism that for the reduced rate of work accidents
