The Arab Foundation for Civil Society and Human Rights Support is a Non-governmental organization- established in January 2006-  which aims to support the concept of civil society in both the Egyptian and Arab society and to monitor the violations against the civil society organizations and to provide legal assistance and training to the institutions of civil society, notably the political parties and trade unions, associations, NGOs and trade unions, student and business.

 

Objectives of the Foundation

• support the concept of civil society in both Egyptian and Arab society.
• monitor and follow up violations that occur against civil society institutions, both Egyptian and Arab.
• provide technical support and legal and human rights training to workers in the institutions of civil society.
• work to change laws governing civil society organizations, both Arab and Egyptian, to reflect the democratic relationship between those organizations and the executive branch
• to create a library specialized in studies of civil society.

 

Means of Action

• the organization of seminars, conferences and seminars to deliberate on the affairs of civil society institutions.
• provide support and assistance to civil society associations and trade unions and civil institutions .. Etc..
• issuance of periodic reports and other periodic surveillance of violations from the Egyptian and Arab authorities towards civil society organizations.
• legal assistance and training to the institutions of civil society and its employees.
• media campaigns and the publication of studies in order to establish the concept of civil society in public opinion among Egyptian and Arab citizens.
• cooperation with non-governmental organizations in order to promote the concept of civil society.
• encourage decision makers to adopt a healthy relationship with the democratic institutions of civil society.

• training unit for the design of training courses to staff in the institutions of civil society.
• Research Unit to provide reports of violations against the institutions of civil society, trade unions and political parties, NGOs.
