Archivo General de la Nacion (Colombia)
In 1850 the president of the Court complained about the humidity that was affecting the archive of the Viceroyalty that was on the floor of the first floor, on boards, and asked to remedy this situation. During the month of September the file "of the government office of the former Viceroyalty of Santafé" was then transferred to the Casa de Moneda for its safekeeping and better conservation. At that time, "one thousand thirty-seven bundles of papers were counted, some of them rotten, apparently because of the humidity of the place in which they were kept."
The transfer of the file of the Secretariat of the Viceroyalty to the Casa de Moneda revealed that eight paintings had arrived at the Tribunal of Cundinamarca between the archives of the Royal Audience, which came from the chapel that had existed in the house of the Royal Audience , then in ruins. The Court wanted to keep them, but the Secretary of Government of the Republic of New Granada demanded its delivery to be allocated to the National Museum. It was a painting by San Isidro Labrador, full-length and with a golden frame; a picture of Saint Michael, full-length and with a golden frame; a smaller picture of San Cristóbal, with a golden frame; a painting of San Sebastián in his martyrdom, with a golden frame, a small painting with the coat of arms of the kings of Spain and three portraits of those kings: Carlos V, with wooden frame; Felipe II, with wooden frame, and Felipe III with half wooden frame, without color. This pinacoteca of the chapel of the Real Audiencia indeed was delivered to the doorman of the Secretariat of Government, with destination to the National Museum.
