In August 2009, a group of regulated and non-regulated entities constituted the Colombian Association of Microfinance Institutions - Asomicrofinanzas, whose main objective is the trade union representation of the entities supervised by the Financial Superintendence; The Superintendency of Solidarity Economy and NGOs, which develop microcredit operations and related services, and which are defined as the microfinance industry in Colombia.

Promote financial inclusion to generate positive social impact in Colombia, through active participation in the definition of a coherent public policy framework and the provision of valuable tools and services for institutions offering financial solutions to the lower income population.
