ABEC is a non-profit association that has been working since 2002 with the mission of teaching Brazilian language and culture to Brazilian children and young people in Switzerland.

ABEC is present in 18 German-speaking Swiss municipalities with about 200 students.

The Brazilian Language and Culture course offered by ABEC has been officially recognized by the Swiss school authorities since its foundation in 2002, as part of the HSK (Heimatliche Sprache und Kultur) program, which is periodically evaluated, which allows for the transcription of students' marks in the school report card.

ABEC is supported by resources derived from the contribution of its members, the six-monthly rate of courses, promotions of events and donations, and is maintained mainly thanks to the volunteer work of the board of directors, teachers, coordinators, parents and friends.
